Tired of waiting in long security lines at the courthouse? You need a Courthouse Security Pass!

Courthouse Security Passes are available to any attorney who is in good standing with their state Bar. This pass will allow you to bypass security lines at the Jackson County (both locations) courthouses and Kansas City, Missouri Municipal Court. The Pass year runs from August 1, 2024 - July 31, 2025, but may be purchased at any time. Passes can be renewed for the new year in July of every year. To maximize your benefits, we encourage you to join/renew early as there are NO prorations and NO refunds. By signing up sooner rather than later, you can enjoy all the perks and advantages that come with your Pass membership. Renew OR JOIN

NEW PASS

Online

• Click the RENEW OR JOIN button above.
• Agree to the terms and conditions outlined for the pass (check the box, adjust the date, and click next). 
• Your cart will have Courthouse Security Pass. The price will vary depending on membership. 
• Click PROCEED TO CHECKOUT.
• Scroll down on the payment screen to Payment Details.
• Enter your card or e-check details.
• Click SUBMIT ORDER.
• Submit a copy of your current driver's license and Missouri Bar card to [email protected] along with some available meeting times (the meeting will be on Microsoft Teams and should take 5 to 10 minutes. This is necessary to verify your identity and capture a photo).
• Your card should take about an hour to make.
• You may choose to collect the card in person or have it mailed to you.

 

In Person

• Email [email protected] to set up an appointment (walk-ins are welcome between 9am and 1pm, but please be aware you might have a wait).
• You will be asked to fill out a pass application.
• You will need to bring your current driver's license and State Bar card. 
• You will be taking a picture for your card. 
• Your card will take approximately 15 minutes to make

   

PASS RENEWAL

Online

 • Click the RENEW OR JOIN button at the top of this page.
• Agree to the terms and conditions outlined for the pass (check the box, adjust the date, and click next). 
• Your cart will have Courthouse Security Pass 8/01/2024 to 7/31/2025. The price will vary depending on membership. 
• Click PROCEED TO CHECKOUT.
• Scroll down on the payment screen to Payment Details.
• Enter your card or E-check details.
• Click SUBMIT ORDER.

Please remember to NOT renew your Pass before the renewal season. Renewals done before the renewal season will count toward the pervious year.

Mail

• Fill out the Application completely. 
• Mail it and your form of payment to 2300 Main Street, Suite 100, Kansas City, MO 64108.

Please remember to have your expiring or expired Pass in good condition and in your possession.


Replacement Pass:

 If a Pass is current, but is lost, stolen or damaged, complete the  Replacement Pass Application and email it to [email protected] with a copy of your current driver's license and State Bar card.


Courthouse Security Pass Costs:

KCMBA members receive discounted pricing for Courthouse Security Passes. 

     MEMBER PRICES : New card:  $65  Annual renewal: $40 Replacement card: $25  

     NON-MEMBER PRICES: New Card:  $125  Annual renewal: $85   Replacement card: $40

 

Activation Timing:

Please allow 5-10 business days from the date of payment for your Pass to be activated. 

 

Passes That Don't Work: 

If your Courthouse Security Pass is not working, please contact us at (816) 474-4322 or [email protected].

A non-functioning security pass usually means one of the following things.
A. The pass hasn’t been renewed for the year and has been deactivated.
B. The pass card has experienced some form of damage.
C. The wrong pass is being used. 

If you have not yet renewed your pass, please Click here to Renew. If there are cracks or dents in your card, you will need to request a replacement pass for a fee of $25 for KCMBA members and $40 for KCMBA non-members.

 

Lost/Stolen/Damaged Passes: 

If you have a current Pass and it is lost, stolen or damaged, please complete the replacement Pass application or contact KCMBA at (816) 474-4322 or [email protected] to report your card lost, stolen or damaged and request a replacement card.  When a replacement Pass card is issued, the your old card will be deactivated for security purposes.
